Myrto Xanthopoulou (b. 1981, Helsinki) is a Greek-Finnish artist whose practice is shaped by a dual cultural sensibility and a sustained engagement with language, material fragility, and bodily presence.
Working across installation, sculpture, drawing, video, and performance, she has developed a distinctive idiom in which humble and often ephemeral materials are transformed into works of poetic intensity and formal precision.
Her work has been presented in important public and institutional contexts, including EMST, the Benaki Museum, the Athens and Epidaurus Festival, and The Equilibrists, organized by the New Museum and DESTE in collaboration with the Benaki Museum, as well as at international platforms such as Artissima in Turin.
She is the recipient of the 2025 Art Athina Young Artist Award, which includes a solo presentation at MOMus–Alex Mylona Museum in 2026, and was awarded the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Artist Fellowship by ARTWORKS in 2020. Further distinctions include Rupert Residency, Mondriaan Fonds, and Outset.
